First steps
Getting started
From your first sign-in to your first dashboard, in three steps.
On this page
Request access from the home page with the email address you will use, including for Google or GitHub. Once approved, create your account and follow the steps below. You can skip a step and return later.
Choose how to add your data, review the result, then set your target allocation. The questionnaire suggests a starting point based on your experience, time horizon and goals; you can adjust it before accepting. During the beta, the first step also offers a demo portfolio: two exchanges, two wallets, DeFi positions and a loan, with fictional quantities and real prices, and a year of past statements valued at each day's closing price, so the curves and the performance show from the start. You then go straight to the questionnaire. A banner at the top of every page says so; Switch to my real data deletes the demo (accounts, transactions, positions, statements, alerts, trading plans, reports, copilot conversations) and keeps your investor profile, your target allocation and your settings. While the demo is active, no real source can be added next to it and no alert email is sent.
- 1
Choose how to start
Import an on-chain wallet from its public address, connect an exchange with a read-only API key, enter positions by hand, or prepare your plan first if you have not invested yet.
- 2
Review your sources
A summary of what Patrima read from your first source, or of what you entered, before moving on. Other accounts can be added at any time later.
- 3
Set up your investment plan
Answer the questionnaire, then review the suggested allocation. Adjust the percentages or save them as they are. You can edit your answers and targets later.
An editable suggestion
The suggestion reflects your answers. It applies only if you accept it and does not trigger any operation on your accounts.
- 1
Add a source
In Accounts, add a wallet using its public address and network, or an exchange using a read-only key.
- 2
Check the positions
After import, compare assets and quantities with your platform. Review any messages and the data date.
- 3
Read the overview
Open the Dashboard to review net worth, then Allocation to compare the distribution with your targets. History builds from recorded snapshots.
- 1
Create a manual account
In Accounts, choose the Manual type and give the account a recognisable name.
- 2
Enter your positions
Add tracked positions or enter their transactions, using the correct asset, quantity and amounts. Avoid entering the same holding twice through different sources.
- 3
Check and update
Compare quantities and valuation with your statements. Update quantities when positions change; an available price does not replace that entry.
The dashboard progress guide helps you complete the first steps. Add more accounts from Accounts, adjust your allocation in Allocation and find your profile in Settings.
After an import, your first snapshot starts the history. With manual entry, it is taken at the next daily snapshot. Trends build over time; performance metrics need at least 8 daily snapshots. See the dashboard guide to distinguish net worth, exposure and performance.
Frequently asked questions
How do I import an on-chain wallet?
Go to Accounts and choose Import wallet, or pick it during onboarding. Paste your public address: Patrima detects whether it is an EVM or Solana address and shows the matching chains. Pick the chains to scan, review the preview (DeFi positions, token balances, unclaimed rewards), then confirm the import. Only public on-chain data is read, never your private keys.
How do I connect an exchange (CEX)?
In Accounts, choose Connect exchange and use a read-only key. Review the detected data before confirming. Full history imports available transactions; Current balances only starts from your current holdings. Profit and loss accuracy depends on the available history and fees. See the Accounts guide.
How do I add accounts and positions manually?
In Accounts, create a Manual account, then add transactions to build your positions. The form also offers On-chain Wallet, Exchange and Broker. Only the Manual type is excluded from your plan's source limit.
I haven't invested yet, can I still use Patrima?
Yes. During onboarding, pick "I haven't invested yet". You skip data import and go straight to the questionnaire, which produces a target allocation you can use as a plan for your first investments. You can import or enter data at any time later.
Why does the questionnaire ask what I have already done?
The answers describe your experience through concrete situations. “I don't know yet” is appropriate when a subject is new to you. The suggestion remains a starting point you can edit.
Why is my suggested crypto share capped at 40%?
The suggestion caps a beginner profile's crypto share at 40% by default. You can edit the percentages before accepting the allocation. This setting is not a guarantee of safety.
Can I set up my portfolio later?
Yes. Skip the steps and return from the dashboard progress guide, Accounts or Investment plan.
Where can I see what's new in Patrima?
Open "What's new" at the bottom of the sidebar, or the public "What's new" page linked at the bottom of this documentation. It lists every release with what was added, improved or fixed, newest first: the ten most recent releases are open, and older ones are grouped by month, each month opening from its own line. In the app, a dot on the button signals releases you have not seen yet on this device; it clears when you open the page.
Where is the documentation, and can I read it before signing up?
This documentation is public, with or without an account. Inside the app, Help & support in the sidebar opens the same pages, and the assistant answers questions about how Patrima works from them.
